It might sound a little odd, but I often interpret people as animals. One afternoon in downtown Chicago, I saw a man driving while smoking a cigar, wearing a bowtie and aviators, and blasting “Nessun Dorma,” which I could hear from a block away. That moment became the inspiration for my painting Bad Dawg.

I can turn you into an animal based on my biased impression — or you can tell me what creature you feel connected to, and we’ll go from there.
